The Germans continued to impress me in part last night,they pass the ball around like they were at their local sports centre playing 5 aside with their mates,they are so relaxed on the ball and never seem rushed into making a bad pass.
That said they did struggle to break down Portugal,the Germans seem frustrated with the close marking they were receiving from the boys in red,it was almost the perfect tactic for Ronaldo’s men as they hit the crossbar just before the break,had several opportunities to score but failed to take advantage.
Mario Gomez scored with a well worked goal,with twenty minutes left on the clock,the celebration was more of a relief than joy.
Based on this game,the Germans do not look as solid as they did in South Africa,their back four was extremely lucky no to concede a few goals,I hope this is a sign of their weakness for this tournament and not just a wobble,for England’s sake.
